Strawberry Oatmeal Protein Boost

Morning comes early, and like most busy moms, we don’t always have time to get a delicious, healthy breakfast on the table before the family is off and running for the day. Thankfully, I have the answer. Strawberry Oatmeal Protein Boost is a quick and easy, done in 3 minutes, low-fat meal in a glass that gives you nutrition and energy for the busy day ahead.

It seems like oatmeal has always been a part of the breakfast table in America, but it’s interesting to learn about its long cultural history through out the world including Scotland, Egypt, and China. As they say, there is nothing new under the sun. Oats have been around for thousands of years and has been recorded as far back at 2000 B.C. in Egypt. But it is Scotland that has made this simple breakfast food famous as it is celebrated every year at the World Porridge Making Championship in the village of Carrbridge. Apparently, the Scottish are more than huge fans of these fiber dense cooked oats.

As for me, I’m a huge fan of morning smoothies, especially this one. Packed with nature’s goodness like, almond milk and almond butter, bananas, strawberries, and chia seeds, this combination of super foods creates a perfect way to add a large selection of nutritional foods to your body that you wouldn’t usually eat in one meal otherwise. Take the pressure off of meal time in the morning and whip up a batch of my Strawberry Oatmeal Protein Boost and watch it disappear! Find the recipe below.

Strawberry Oatmeal Protein Boost Yum
This smoothie is one of my favorites! It's creamy, bursting with flavor and chalk full of protein. Make it dairy-free or non-dairy free by simply changing a few ingredient.

Idea!

- Pour extra smoothie into a Popsicle mold and freeze for a healthy snack later.
- Some fruit is sweeter than others so feel free to add a little more honey and adjust the flavor to your liking.
